Four buttons redirect to Core Social profile page.

Anyone had this issue? The four buttons - Unanswered, Not Read, My Topics and Active Topics when accessed redirect to the Users Profile page in Core Social.

I see these two error messages. Always in pairs.

I have no Left Pane in the skin.

Any clues please.

A bit more on this. The buttons are linking to the Forum Settings page that is locked in the User's Social area.

FYI the B formatting button on this Editor is putting the Underscores (see Forum Settings above) instead of Bold.

I tried deleting the Forums Setting page. The links then directed to the Home page. Restored the Forum Setting page and now the redirect continues to Home page and the Forum Setting pages loads blank. Deleted and created a new page My Forum Settings that loads fine with the User Settings however the redirect continues to the Home page.

I've had a bit of time to look at what's happening here. I created a new instance of AF 5.0.4 and set up a new "Forum Settings " page. All the links work as they are supposed to. What I see however is that the links are different.

On the new test instance http:||domain/TestPage/tabid/330/afv/grid/afgt/activetopics/Default.aspx [this link opens Active Topics as expected]

On the dud instance http:||domain/forums/views/mytopics/ [goes to 404 page not found or home page]

Is this a Vanity URL problem and how to fix it.

Anyone.

More.

So I manually add the URL tabid/250/afv/grid/afgt/notread/Default.aspx to http:||domain/tabid/250/afv/grid/afgt/notread/Default.aspx and it works.

Where did these links come from?

[Unanswered Button] http:||domain/forums/views/unanswered
[Not Read Button] http:||domain/forums/views/notread
[My Topics Button] http:||domain/forums/views/mytopics
and
[Active Topics Button] http:||domain/forums/views/activetopics

If at all they should be [Unanswered Button] http:||domain/Resources/forums/views/unanswered but that doesn't work either.

You must have used URLMaster or AF's vanity urls sometime. If you did, it looks like some of code is still left behind.

Well it is just my guess.

Yes I have been using AF vanity URL's. I did have entries in the Vanity Name field which is for the Group and Forums. The problem is with the four buttons Unanswered, Not Read, My Topics and Active Topics.

I tried going to Host > Host Settings > Advanced Setting > Friendly URL Settings and disabling Friendlies. What happened then was that I was locked out of the AF Control panel. Could open in Dashboard and Exit but nothing else worked. Turned Friendlies back on and access was restored. I thinking that this maybe something to do with the migration from AS although I'm pretty sure that the buttons were working.

As above I set up a new instance and they work with the URL being absolute (no vanity url) just on the original AF module that was integrated with AS they have a vanity name.

The vanity urls work fine on the Topics and Posts. Just these four buttons and I'm losing activity on the forum because of it.

What ticks me off is that I didn't purchase from Active Modules but from DNN Corp. They willingly took my $399 then basically left town. I think that they had a duty of care to say something about what their intentions was going forward. They would have known.

Seems to me that all that is required here is to make the Buttons point to tabid/250/afv/grid/afgt/notread/Default.aspx to http:||domain/tabid/250/afv/grid/afgt/notread/Default.aspx but I can find where the links are coming from.

Anyone know where these four links are generated?

I have similar problem - just completed a clean install of the latest beta and these 4 buttons give me a 404 page not found error - I've not used vanity urls at all thus far.

Like you I'm confused as to where the page link is coming from.

Try going to the Module Settings > Advanced Options and Disabling "Friendly URLs" and Uninstall AF URL Handler.
